Deputy General Manager - Materials Management

Job Description (total positions: 1, posted on: Dec 20, 2021)

  • Work with senior operational leaders to understand the material needs for projects and develop policy and procedures to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of required materials.
  • Develop strategies and vendor partnerships for ensuring the availability of materials with a minimal internal inventory.
  • Establish objectives and goals for inventory management to be executed by Warehouse Managers and staff.
  • Identifies, documents and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Establishes budgets and conducts analyses for company facilities, fleet, assets, tools and other operating costs.
  • Ensures the physical condition of company facilities are properly maintained in accordance with standards of safety, health, security, and hygiene.
  • Liaise with Merchandising and Procurement teams, and suppliers on proper scheduling and timely receipts of materials to meet production requirements.
  • Oversee and control inventories for effective working capital management.
  • Maintain and manage FIFO, VMI, JIT, and lean 6-sigma principles.
  • Apply company standards and best industry practices
  • Oversee warehouse employees and manage daily operations. Improve internal controls and flow of materials through effective monitoring and extensive use of SAP ERP system.
  • Oversee scrap sales Coordinate with suppliers, internal clients, and transport companies.
  • Develop, coach, and engage employees and other service providers.
  • Issue daily and periodic reports to senior management and pro-actively resolve any excess / short materials issues.
